Ideally suited for workplace responders in high-risk environments, EMR participants will develop a strong understanding of the human body in health, illness or injury. Candidates will develop the skills necessary to assess patients, make critical decisions about care, access emergency services and package a patient for transport–thereby minimizing the time required for EMS services to be on-scene.
In some Canadian provinces, an Emergency Medical Responder may be employed by ambulance services.
The First Responder course is a 40-44 hour medical responder course for workplace responders at small to large worksites.
The Emergency Medical Technician course is designed as our highest level of emergency medical training.
